Welcome!

Welcome to my book blog!

People often ask how Lessons from the Sticker Patch came to be.

Truly, it all began as a letter to my Dad as a Father's Day gift in 1993, in the story  "In My Father's Arms". My passion has been just to share what Christ has done in me, which spilled over into  my personal writing and eventually became a Christian column called "It's a Wonderful Life" in a local newspaper. My readers then suggested I put the columns into a book and--Voila! Lessons from the Sticker Patch was born.

I have always loved the way Jesus taught using parables. To some it was a good story, to others, a spiritual truth with a deeper message woven into illustrations using His creation. It is my desire to administer the truth of God’s Word through these simple, parable-like messages, woven with the truth of God’s Word, that together we can “consider it all joy” as we come to know the breadth, length, depth, and height of the love of Christ. (James 1:2, Eph. 3: 18)

Throughout my life, God has blessed me with an abundance of mercy, grace, forgiveness, and healing. Indeed, it is from that abundance that I walk today, as well as from which I write. I invite you to read My Testimony on my personal blog.

Every story in my book is true. Look around you! It's amazing to see the Biblical lessons we can be taught from just everyday objects that are all around us. People often ask if I will ever write a fictional book. My answer at this time is “I'm not sure”. I write from those things I have personally experienced. Christian fictions are wonderful, and I have read several. I just feel it simply is not where God has me at this moment.

I believe in the power of words. Words can bring life, and sadly, they can destroy. (Prov. 18:21) They can impart healing or they can induce illness. I choose to write that which I have found encourages, edifies, amuses, enlightens, and even stirs the heart toward a deeper relationship; first with our Divine Creator, as well as in personal and family relationships. (Col. 3:17)

I hope you are blessed by Lessons from the Sticker Patch and that it stirs your heart toward a deeper place with Christ, as you recognize the immeasurable love of the One who desires for you to love, worship and just enjoy Him as He adores and enjoys you. And why not? He created you.

Please let me know if one or more stories touch your heart in some way, reminding you of something from your past, and encouraging you in your faith walk. Brother and sister in Christ, we are in this journey together.

Check out posted stories from the book in the column on the right side of the page.

Grace and peace in Christ!
